Last Monday night, Clay and I woke up at the same time sick with the flu! We were up all night, and before he got too sick I asked him to run to Harris Teeter for ginger ale... at 2am! Giselle slept all night which was a huge blessing. My dear mama rushed over at 7am to pick her up and had her all day, over night and all day for the next two days. Yesterday I started to feel better, but alas, today I'm still feeling a little yucky. I'm sure it's a mixture of pregnancy tummy ache- but nothing sounds good to eat so force feeding myself at this time. Clay has been my true hero though it all. Even though he was as sick as I was, he served me hand and foot. Today is our 5 yr. anniversary. What a week leading up to this! I told him this was the roughest week (physically) of our married life. His response was so tender, he said he was grateful for this week because in all 5 yrs. I've never needed him to serve me like I did this week. Today we had big plans but due to me getting easily car-sick, we've decided to chill at home and read on our patio in the sun then shop a little this afternoon. God is such a loving Savior! As I was resting in bed this morning I just was struck with a new amazement for Him sending His one and only Son to die for us, for me- His enemy. Now that I have my own child I can hardly think about that situation without becoming completely overcome by emotion! I would do ANYTHING not to have Giselle to suffer. Yet, God- because of His great LOVE for us, gave up His Son, Jesus, to die in our place. I can't wait to celebrate Jesus' victory over death and sin this Sunday morning! HE IS RISEN!!!!
