Wow, what a trip! We were very blessed to be able to rent a mini van for the trip and have Katie & Wes ride with us. Giselle did great driving there, I was probably the most annoying passenger as I had to pee every hour! When we got to Gaylord we enjoyed spending time with both Clay's parents. Some highlights of the trip included going to the lake with the whole family, spending time with some of Clay's friends, a family reunion which really glorified the Lord, roasting marshmallows at Clay's dad's house, & eating ice cream at Moony's. Having a kid did make things a bit more challenging but in the end we were both able to see how God gave us extra grace and patients in situations where we felt frustrated. Driving home was not easy- well, for the first 17 hrs it was fine but once we hit traffic in DC I almost lost it. Giselle broke down for about 30minutes which made me break into a sweat! Even at the 19hr mark of being in the van, I was able to see God's faithfulness to help me not go crazy! Katie & Wes were great friends to ride with, they never got annoyed at Giselle for fussing! The story behind the last picture is kinda funny. It was the first morning after getting back and I thought if I let Giselle try to feed herself it would give me a good 20 minutes to start the huge process of unpacking, laundry ect. She gave me about 15 minutes and I got a lot done- but in the end, cleaning her and the floor probably took longer. Oh well, she had a blast! Miss all our extended family already!
